Canterbury
The Canterbury Home Energy Advice Centre is project managed by Community Energy Action (CEA), a charitable trust based in Christchurch. Established in 1994, CEA’s mission is “to provide equitable energy efficient solutions to achieve good health, good environmental outcomes and the relief of fuel poverty in our community”.
The office is open for calls Monday to Friday 10 am to 4pm. The toll free area includes the Canterbury region and north up to Kaikoura. The service is now open to callers in the Waitaki region. Homeowners outside those areas can call directly on 03 374 7229 or use the online query form.
The Centre operates from offices in Christchurch and offers the following services:

Adam has worked for over seven years as a teacher specialising in science and biology. He has a passion for the environment and takes a keen interest in environmental issues, particularly energy efficiency.
Having lived in and renovated a number of old homes in Christchurch over the past decade, Adam has a good understanding of the importance of energy efficiency in making our homes warmer, healthier places to live.

Carolyn previously worked for the Sustainable Business Network helping companies implement and improve their sustainability platforms. She is passionate about all things sustainable. In her spare time she is a board member of New Internationalist magazine, co-director of the Human Rights Film festival, a Trade Aid Development Committee member and a DIY enthusiast.
