Auckland

The Auckland Home Energy Advice Centre is project managed by EcoMatters Environment Trust, a charitable trust based in Waitakere. EcoMatters Environment Trust delivers a diverse range of sustainability initiatives in the areas of energy, waste and water management, and sustainable gardening.

The Auckland Centre opened for calls on 30 March 2009. The toll free area includes the Auckland region from Franklin to Rodney. Homeowners outside those areas can call directly on 09 826 4320 or use the online query form.

Energy Advisor
Aaryn has been working in the NGO sector for the last three years and previously tutored at Waikato University and worked in biodiversity management at Environment Bay of Plenty. His passion for sustainability drew him to work for Ecomatters Environment Trust in Waitakere where he is now working on household sustainability projects.
Aaryn is currently studying permaculture design and is dedicated to promoting systems thinking approaches in response to current environmental challenges.

Susie began her career assisting with HERS rating inspections and US Green Building Council LEED for Homes certifications in Atlanta, Georgia USA. She moved to New Zealand to live with her Kiwi partner whom she met in 2005 when she was an exchange student at the University of Waikato studying Resources and Environmental Planning. She has been managing the Sustainable Homes Programme at EcoMatters Environment Trust since January 2008.

Susie’s interests include finding ways to encourage behaviour change towards a more sustainable future, and providing household energy efficiency and water conservation advice for those on a budget.
